Why Wrangler? 6 Jeep Wrangler Adventure Influencers Weigh In

The Jeep Wrangler boasts the single largest car specific community in America. Known for its strong ties to adventure, offroading, and the great outdoors, the Wrangler has become a household name for those looking to experience more with their car. The model's rapid rise in popularity since its release in 1986 has earned the Jeep brand immense success as of late, selling nearly 250,000 units of the model in 2018 alone. In fact, the Jeep Wrangler can outsell entire car brands on its own, making it one of the best-selling vehicles of all time.

Sales figures and financials aside, the Wrangler has brought millions of adventurers together through mutual love and adoration for the beast that never lets us down. Fun and playful traditions like the ‘Jeep Wave’ have been monumental in not only bringing light to the community but connecting owners in ways never before seen amongst car enthusiasts, spawning an entire Jeep subculture full of audio and visual content creators, social media bloggers, and more!

“Why Jeep?” is certainly a question you asked yourself when deciding to purchase your Wrangler – we all did! Take a look at why these beloved Jeep Wrangler influencers ended up choosing their favorite Wrangler. Check out their own websites and be sure to let them know XG Cargo sent you!

Wesley Vance, You, Me & The Parks

“Our Jeep is a symbol of adventure and opportunity, no road is off limits. Outfitted with everything we need to live, work and travel full-time, our Jeep has allowed us to explore some of the most remote areas in North America. From the spectacular desert off road trails in Moab, to the remote arctic of the Yukon and Alaska, with ever new path we are confident our Jeep can get us there and back!”

Kern Campbell, My Jeep and Me

“My passion for Jeeps started with my 1993 Hunter Green YJ Sahara that I got when I was in high school. I had to sell it to buy my wife’s wedding ring after college. This is where the obsession started. I’ve owned multiple Wrangler’s, Grand Cherokee’s and Classic Grand Wagoneers over the years. In recent years I’ve caught the restoration bug so I’ve been bringing old Wagoneers back to life and sprinkle in a few Wranglers along the way. I’m always on the hunt for the next Jeep that catches my eye."

"I guess my experience with the Jeep brand and others outside of the family don’t get it. I guess that’s why they say “It’s a Jeep Thing!”

Natasha Kokkinis, The Faces Of Jeep

“Why a Jeep? Jeep offers the freedom of individuality in expressing one’s self. Our Jeeps are an extension of ourselves. Jeeps offer a venue of creativity to build our own look and style. I’ve heard many refer to them as Lego for adults, you never stop building. Jeeps even take on their own personalities with their proud owners giving them names. Jeep owners or “Jeepers” are always in search for the newest modifications and accessories to add the wow factor to our rigs. We love to talk about our Jeeps, go off-roading in our Jeeps, take selfies with our Jeeps, cruise around top down and doors off in our Jeeps and of course, Jeep wave other Jeeps.”

Annette White, Bucket List Journey

"The best thing about my Jeep Wrangler is that it doesn’t care about the weather, It can literally go anywhere—from snow to mud to sand. It gives me a sense of freedom, a feeling like I could go anyplace and do anything. And it’s just plain cool."

Jase Chantelau, Legendary 1941 Offroad Collective

“Why I chose Jeep? It really started in the mid 90s for me when a good friend of mine bought a CJ5. He came over that first day and I walked out the door and instantly fell in love. It was mid June in the northeast and he had it completely naked. I remember just riding down the road and having this amazing feeling, I couldn’t stop smiling, I was hooked. I chose Jeep because there isn’t another community like it anywhere. There isn’t another vehicle that gets you out exploring and feeling adventurous. I always like to say from the paved interstates to the dirt and gravel roads, from rock gardens to mud holes there’s nothing like owning a Jeep and being part of the Jeep community.”

Lynnette Walczak, The Fun Times Jeep Guide

Since we’ve been married, my husband and I have owned 5 Jeeps (3 Wranglers and 2 Grand Cherokees) -- and when we’re not driving our own Jeep, we’re usually renting one. Our favorite places to rent Jeeps have been in Aruba, Sedona Arizona, and the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee / North Carolina. Our Jeep is our daily driver. We keep the soft top on our Wrangler year round and the back window permanently rolled up so the dogs can enjoy the ride. Yep, even through the winter months -- thanks to the kick-butt heater in a Jeep! We keep a Jeep bucket list of places that we’ve like to go next, as we attempt to cross more states off our list of places that we’ve Jeeped in the USA. The camaraderie with other Jeep owners is amazing - when you own a Jeep Wrangler, every other Jeep Wrangler owner in the world is your friend, and the Jeep Wave proves it!
